All athletes should report any and all injuries to their coach and then immediately to an athletic trainer. The athletic trainer will evaluate the athlete and determine whether or not the athlete needs to be seen by a physician. All parents will be contacted with each new injury. If an athlete gets injured and for some reason an athletic trainer is not available, the athlete should come to the training room right away the next day for an evaluation and so that the proper paperwork can be filled out. All athletes will be given a home care and information sheet for their parents. All coaches will be notified of the athlete’s status and the care they will receive in the training room. Any injury deemed as serious in nature, will be referred immediately to a physician. Athletes should still attend practice if injured. Rehab can be done in the training room: before school, during school, or after school. Our team physician is Dr. Randy Schwartzberg. His office is in Oviedo and he is phenomenal at taking care of our athletes. Please contact an athletic trainer if you ever have any questions regarding your child’s injury. If an athlete chooses not to report to the athletic trainers when injured, they must turn in a doctor’s note prior to their return to practice. All injuries that occur while participating in your sport need to have the proper paperwork filled out, this is why it is imperative you see an athletic trainer asap.
