Dear Parents and Student Athletes

Welcome back to another exciting year of Winter Springs Girls Cross-Country. This fall will begin our tenth year of competitive and exciting running. Philosophy: I believe that fall cross-country should be utilized for improving endurance and stamina. Fall cross-country is not a time for peaks. My objective during this period is to develop a very high volume of aerobic fitness that will allow the young athlete to compete comfortably over 5,000 meters, survive winter sports and finally return for spring track. With this plan my teams of the past have excelled during the championship series of cross-country. The few soccer players that bravely trained with me during the months of July through November entered winter soccer at a much higher level of fitness than their counterparts who chose not to due to fear. Below is a clearly defined weekly plan that has successfully worked for the Running Bears at Winter Springs High School. For the complete Weekly Training Plan, click here.

SAC Cross Country Meet

SAC Champs
The Boys and Girls Cross Country team work together to bring home the Seminole Athletic Conference (SAC) Championship. Boys team was lead by individual champ Nathan Duby, 2nd place finisher Richie Kamaka, 5th place finisher Brian Dekrey and 7th place finisher Brett Hinds. The girls team was lead by 2nd place finisher Kristen Yokum, 8th place finisher Arielle Loupos and 10th place finisher Elizabeth Adams.
