Who says lightning doesn’t strike twice in the same place?
Not to be outdone by her teammate, Kiersten Coffman recorded the second PERFECT GAME in school history the night after Elizabeth Birle threw hers. Coffman retired all 21 batters she faced, striking out 12, as the Bears rolled Lake Brantley 7-0 last night. She also singled twice. Elizabeth Birle provided the offensive punch going two for three with a solo home run and a grand slam for five runs batted in. Brooke Potchen had two hits and Katie Mandigo hit her team leading twelfth double. The Bears now stand at the top of the Seminole Athletic Conference with an 11-1 record.
Elizabeth Birle dominates!
History was made as Elizabeth Birle pitched the first PERFECT GAME in Winter Springs history. She faced fifteen batters, striking out nine, in the victory. Birle also doubled twice collecting two rbi's. Katie Mandigo recorded a double with 5 rbi's, Jordan Davis was two for two, Kiersten Coffman singled twice, and Brittany Garcia was two for two in the Bears 12 hit attack. The junior varsity was also victorious with an eighteen to one victory. The Lady Bears Fastpitch team defeated conference foe Lyman by a score of 14-0 last night.
