Bears vs. Seminole – Wed. Nov 19th.
On a cold Wednesday night, the girls varsity soccer team warmed up things with a solid 5-0 drubbing of Seminole.   It was “Samantha” night, as junior Samantha Murphy grabbed her first 3 goal hat trick as a Bear, and freshman Samantha Elliott added a tally.  Sophomore Cayce Dossett opened the scoring with a first half goal.  Sophomore Shelby Savolainen went the distance in the net, recording 7 saves for her second consecutive clean sheet.  Well done ladies!!  The Bears host district rival Lake Mary this Friday night at 7pm, in what is always a strong matchup.  The team will seek to go 3-0 in this week’s matches.

Girls Varsity Soccer vs. Lake Brantley  11/17/08
It must be soccer season, as the temperature dropped last night.  But the varsity Bears turned up the heat at Lake Brantley, putting the Patriots to the sword by a score of 4-0.  Leading the scoring was sophomore Cayce Dossett. Nabbing 2 goals in the first half, Cayce would round out her hat trick by adding a third in the second half.  Sophomore Sarah Gordon also notched a first half goal.  The defense held Lake Brantley at bay, with sophomore netminder Shelby Savolainen called on to make just 8 saves, enroute to a clean sheet on the night.  The girls controlled most of the match with an excellent display of passing and possession.  The Bears open their home schedule this Wednesday, as they play host to Seminole High School.  JV kicks off, in defense of their undefeated season, at 5pm, with Varsity looking for a second straight District victory at 7pm.  Come out as both teams heat up the cold night with great soccer action!
