SAC CHAMPS

We had a record setting performance Saturday, Jan 21st at the
2012 Seminole Athletic Conference Tournament as we captured only our
second ever SAC team title (1999-00), ending Oviedo's 11 year streak
(as Coach Ciero said "There is a new sheriff in town....")

 

WRESTLING TEAM ANNOUNCEMENTS

10/18 MANDATORY INFORMATIONAL MEETING
Any students that are interested in trying out for our Wrestling team must
attend the meeting in room 2-126 on Tuesday, October 18th from 2:30pm-2:45pm.  You must have at least a 2.0 gpa and a current athletic physical on file prior to Friday October 21st.  Tryouts will be held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (10/24 - 10/26)

10/19 WSHS WRESTLING TEAM SPIRIT NIGHT
CHICK-FIL-A on Tuscawilla and Red Bug Road
Wednesday, October 19th from 5:30pm - 7:30pm

• Ryan Petro (12th): 215lb Regional Champion (3-time state qualifier)
• Scott Accomando (11th): HWT 3rd Placer (2-time state qualifier)

 

Congratulations to Matthew Nereim
2010 FHSAA 3A 140lb STATE CHAMPION

Matthew pulled off an exciting win in the gold medal match against a defending state champion who was ranked number 6 in the nation. Let me set the stage. With 10 seconds remaining, the score was tied 8-8. Matt was in the bottom position fighting and scrapping trying to escape. He was able to hit a lightning quick reversal move with 1 second remaining to win 10-8.

2010 FHSAA 3A 135lb State Runner-up

After pinning a state champion in the quarterfinals and defeating a 2 time state placewinner 9-4 in the semifinals Eric lost a tough match in the finals to a 2 time state champion and a national runner-up. Very proud of Eric and his silver medal!
