WSHS Prom 2026 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

 

Event Information

  • When and where is prom being held?
    • Prom will take place on April 25th, 2026, at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, located at Universal Studio, from 7pm to 11pm.
  • Who is eligible to attend prom?
    • Prom is open to junior and senior students enrolled at Winter Springs HS. Approved guests may attend if all requirements are completed in advance.
  • What is the theme for prom?
    • The theme is “Gatsby’s Gilded Evening of Glamour”. Think luxurious blacks and golds, elegant pearls and plumage.

Tickets & Purchases

  • How much do tickets cost?
    • WSHS student prom tickets start at $110 and increase weekly. We recommended buying tickets as soon as possible. The price schedule is as follows:
      • March 2-8: $110
      • March 9-22: $115 (no cost increase over Spring Break)
      • March 23-29: $120
      • March 30-April 5: $125
      • April 6-12: $130
      • April 13-17: $135
      • April 20-24: NO SALES (ticket pick up)
    • Non-WSHS guest prom tickets are $115. The price will not change.
  • How are tickets purchased?
    • Tickets must be purchased online using MySchoolBucks. Juniors/seniors must purchase tickets for their WSHS student guests. WSHS underclassmen do not have access to the listing on MySchoolBucks.

    • The link for non-WSHS guests will be emailed to the WSHS school student bringing the guest following guest approval.
  • What is the ticket deadline?
    • All tickets must be purchased by April 17th, 2026. Late purchases cannot be accommodated.
  • Are tickets refundable?
    • No. Prom tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Guest Policies

  • Can students bring guests?
    • Yes. WSHS students may bring a WSHS underclassman or a non-WSHS guest to prom. 
    • Non-WSHS guests include: 
      • Students from a different high school (in or out of district)
      • Homeschooled/FLVS students
      • Recent graduates
      • Former students not currently enrolled
    • Non-WSHS guests must complete a guest approval form prior to ticket purchase. Only approved guests are allowed to attend.
  • How are WSHS guests (underclassmen) approved?
    • WSHS underclassmen guests do not need approval and are able to attend as long as they are accompanied by a WSHS upperclassman. 
  • How are non-WSHS guests approved?
    • WSHS students must fill out a non-WSHS guest form for their guest. Information such as school and principal names, emergency contact information, as well as a copy of their photo ID will be required.

  • Are there age restrictions for guests?
    • Guests must be 20 years of age or under and must present valid identification at check-in.
  • Are guests held to school expectations?
    • Yes. All guests must follow school rules and behavioral expectations.

Dress Expectations

  • What is the dress code?
    • Prom is a formal school-sponsored event. Students are expected to dress their best and wear attire appropriate for a school function.
  • What happens if attire is inappropriate?
    • Administration reserves the right to deny entry if attire does not meet school guidelines.

Arrival, Departure & Transportation

  • What time should students arrive?
    • Students should arrive within the designated check-in window of 7pm to 9pm.
  • What time should students depart?
    • Students should leave/be picked up no later than 11:15pm. Students may leave early; however, re-entry is not permitted once a student exits the venue.
  • Is transportation provided?
    • Transportation is not provided by the school. Parents are responsible for arranging transportation to and from the event.
  • Is parking available?
    • Complimentary parking is available on site. More information will be provided closer to the prom event date.

Safety & Supervision

  • Will the event be supervised?
    • Yes. Prom is supervised by school administrators, faculty chaperones, and venue staff.
  • Are security measures in place?
    • Yes. ALL students and guests will be required to walk through metal detectors and be searched by security. 
    • Students are allowed to bring a small bag or clutch, no larger than 6 inches. No other bags are permitted. Bags will be subject to search by security.
    • ALL students will be required to wear a wristband (provided for them after they clear security) for the duration of the dance.
  • Are students required to bring identification?
    • Yes. ALL students and guests must present a photo ID for entry. The name on the ID must match the name pre-written on the ticket.
    • Acceptable forms of photo ID include:
      • FL Driver’s License
      • FL Identification card
      • Official School ID card
      • Skyward ID (from the menu, access “student ID” card to show at the door)
  • What items are prohibited?
    • Alcohol, drugs, vaping devices, tobacco products, weapons, and outside food or beverages are strictly prohibited.

Food & Activities

  • Will food be provided?
    • Yes. Several grab-and-go buffet stations will be available during the first 90 minutes of the event.
  • Will photography services be available?
    • Professional photography services will be offered in the form of photobooths. All photos are complimentary to the attendants.

Student Conduct

  • What behavior is expected at prom?
    • Prom is a school-sponsored function, and all school rules remain in effect.
  • What happens if a student violates school policies?
    • Parents/guardians may be contacted for immediate pickup, and disciplinary consequences may follow according to school policy.
